Christopher Lagan is the chief of strategic communication and integrated communication planning for the U.S. Coast Guard’s Office of Public Affairs. Over the past two decades, Christopher has worked in senior communication positions in the public, private and non-profit sectors as well as on political and social campaigns. He began his career as a journalist for Reuters Television News in Washington, D.C., and Los Angeles. He has supported the social justice efforts of Dr. Jane Goodall and U2 lead singer Bono. Most recently, he stood up the U.S. Coast Guard’s social media program before taking on his current duties where he oversees the development of enterprise communication strategy, planning and execution for the Coast Guard.

  Christopher is married to Erin Lagan, budget director for the Office of the National Coordinator for Health I.T. at the Department of Health and Human Services. He is pursuing his master’s degree in military history from the U.S. Naval War College. In 2004, he was as a political appointee in President George W. Bush’s administration where he served as speech writer to EPA Administrator Michael Leavitt, the former governor of the great state of Utah.
